Dear Heavenly Father,
I drop down on my knees to pray, I call upon Your name, for You love me and I am Yours. I go where Your spirit leads me, wherever You may call me, in the presence of my savior. I ask that You may come into me, come and live inside me, drown me in Your love. You have given me eternity, an inner strength to face all my fears and to follow the road which leads to You – Your love surrounds me.
You love me, for the Bible tells me so, I see the King of glory, I see and feel Your love and mercy in every waking moment, for You are the one who died for me. I’m on my knees, Hosanna, I worship You my Lord of love and light. Show me how to love, as You love me, as I walk from earth into eternity. A love from Greater Heights, You have proclaimed Your love from above, Your blood paints a picture of love I can see, my Saviour who loves me cries out from above. You did not whisper that You love me over a candle-lit dinner, nor did not tell me that You love while we watched the sun come up nor did You send a card and flowers from heaven or write me a poem in the clouds. You came down to be crucified, laying Yourself down for me and my sins.
My heart’s awakening, Holy spirit hear me now, come and fill my life with Your presence, deliver me from the enemy. No matter what I’ve done or the mistakes I’ve made I know that You love me and that You will forgive me if I ask, In fact, You promised to both forgive me of every wrong I have done and provide me eternal life if only I would believe in You: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
It is written in Romans 5:8, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Before we were even born, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on our behalf to give us the opportunity for eternal life. This amazing gift comes to us because of His wonderful grace toward us: “By grace, you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). We don’t have to earn Your love; we simply accept it.
It’s sometimes difficult to believe that You love me because of other people who have let me down in the past. However, You are unlike any other person; You are God in human form (John 1:14). You were involved in creating us, You sustain me every breath, and You offer me new life now and eternal life in heaven with You.
You already know my past and still, offer me eternal life and forgiveness. A wonderful example of Your love can be found in Your last hours on the cross. One of the men crucified next to You was being put to death for his crimes. Turning to You, he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, saying, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:42–43). Despite this criminal’s sins, You accepted his simple and sincere act of faith and promised him the eternity in heaven—even though You knew the man had no time to live his life differently.
I pray to receive You as my Savior right now and accept Your love and eternal life. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I realize I am a sinner and could never reach heaven by my own good deeds. Right now I place my faith in You as God’s Son who rose from the dead to give me eternal life. Please forgive me of my sins and help me to live for you. Thank you for accepting me and giving me eternal life. My wealth is in Your cross, my heart is set on You my Lord, I have no pride in Gold, I will boast in Your name alone.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
